Benefits of Contractual Hires

Flexibility of Staffing

Recruiting interims or contractors offers employers flexibility from the labour market and gives them immediate control of how they manage change across their business. For the majority of cases it is extremely unlikely that the employer will be able to pre-empt an interim requirement and recruiting contractors is inevitably driven by pressure, whether it be a pressure on headcount, time, resources or workload. Contractors therefore offer companies the chance to react to changes in their market or at a more personal level, changes in their business, quickly and efficiently and for as long as the need exists.

Access to Quality Professionals

People with a proven track record of contracting are accustomed to walking into organisations and immediately delivering value. A contractor is only as good as his/her last project, so the emphasis to be the best they can is a key driver for their future career.

A good contractor will ensure they are up to date with the latest industry thinking, are motivated to ensure they have the latest skills and expertise, and are fully trained to maximise their potential. This can have great benefits for employers who will have access to forward thinking professionals as and when they need them.

Knowledge Sharing and Thought Leadership

A successful contactor will most likely have worked within a similar or likeminded organisation and will therefore have rich and enhanced skills and expertise, which they will bring to their new role. They will not only have the technical skills required to do the job but will be able to draw on proven best practice to really add value; understanding what works and what does not, which improves their efficiency and effectiveness.

Cost Effectiveness

Contractors are typically on either a daily or hourly rate, with the employer being liable only for these rates. Whether the contractor operates through a limited company or is registered as self employed, they will be required to take care of their own tax and NI payments, will not be paid holiday pay and will have to manage their own pension and healthcare provision. If they are employed through RPR on a PAYE basis, we will handle all of these time consuming and costly factors. This reduces the burden on employers and provides real value for money and cost savings.
