Interim Management

Interim management is a flexible form of executive staffing and is typically employed to drive change across organisations. Senior executives are usually employed on a short term basis to project manage a range of business critical issues, such as:

  • Implementation of new strategies
  • Business restructuring
  • M&A Activity
  • Establishing new or developing existing divisions

Organisations that recognise a need for change often look internally for a person to lead the activity. However, sourcing from within is not always the best solution and more often than not projects are halted or badly implemented, which can have severe repercussions for their business.

Unlike an internal resource, an interim manager will have expertise in delivering similar types of projects and can therefore anticipate pitfalls or problems before they occur. They are able to bring objectivity to a company and/or project and are ideally placed to make difficult decisions free from existing allegiances and perceptions. It is these qualities that make an interim manager an increasingly attractive proposition for a growing number of organisations.
